Clean Arms for Community

Los Angeles, CA – October 26, 2007 –Tattoo Removal Center announced today the launch of their new philanthropic campaign to erase the visible signs of a troubled past. Using state of the art laser technology and a team of dedicated doctors and nurses, TRC will be offering free laser tattoo removal to ex-gang members, troubled youth and ex-convicts in an effort to help them return to a life of normalcy. The program is part of a continued effort from TRC to provide the community with an inexpensive alternative for laser tattoo removal.

Founders of the Tattoo Removal Center Dr. Thomas Simerson and Cynthia Moore, R.N. have been developing this program over the last 5 years. In lieu of monetary payment for the tattoo removal, TRC will be joining forces with other community outreach programs that will assist in ensuring those helped will reciprocate the favor. These programs will be donating their time and resources to give back to the community through various outlets that ensure those in need will continue to improve the lives of themselves and their peers.

“The new goal is to provide service to the underserved, neglected communities,” says Dr. Simerson. “We hope to treat more at-risk youth, ex-gang members and ex-convicts who can in turn mentor and help the younger generations.”
Robert, an ex-gang member, patient of TRC and participant in the program has been able to start his life over as a result of having his gang tattoos removed.

“I’m a really friendly guy but because of my tattoos people would avoid making eye contact with me,” says Robert. “I’m glad I found TRC because that part of my life was over a long time ago and now, with the tattoos gone, I can leave it behind.”

Now, Robert doesn’t have to wear long sleeve shirts to hide his old tattoos.

There is more to the program than the aesthetic aspect of tattoo removal. It gives hope and inspiration to those who are need, and provides a clean slate to begin a new and improved life.

“We feel that tattoo removal is in a way very therapeutic for them simply because their tattoos remind them of a life they no longer lead,” says Dr. Simerson. “We are able to help at-risk youth, ex-gang members, and ex-convicts remove symbols of their past so that they can re-assimilate into society.”

Although the launch of this campaign is a major step forward for the Tattoo Removal Center, it is only part of an ongoing effort to improve their surrounding neighborhoods of Los Angeles and Orange County. TRC counts on the support of the community to allow them to continue their mission to clean up the streets and better the society in which we all live.

The program is expected to have its official launch in January 2008. There will be a kick-off celebration, and all members of the media are invited to attend.
