Cummins Generator Technologies India Ltd Launches the P0 & P1 Alternator Series in India

(PRLEAP.COM) A world leader in the alternator market, Cummins Generator Technologies (CGT) is launching an exciting new range of Stamford Alternators from 7.5 kVA to 42.5 kVA: the P0 and P1 Series.

A truly global product, the P Series has been developed by CGT’s teams from various locations including India, China, U.K., U.S., and SE Asia. The development started with the Voice of Customer (VOC) work to understand the customers’ requirements, and then brought together various functional inputs from Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Finance. The project used various tools like Design for Six Sigma, Process Six Sigma, and Value Package Introduction work to optimise the design and processes.

The P0 and P1 range offers distinct benefits:

1. Ease of genset assembly
2. Upfittable options and accessories for greater flexibility
3. Improved motor starting and short circuit maintenance by the addition of Excitation Boost System (EBS) for which CGT has applied for a patent
4. Ease of service and maintenance

The product has been launched in India on the 22nd of October, 2007 to be followed by Europe, Middle East and Africa, China, South East Asia and the Americas.
