Orthotics and Laser Foot Scans for Birmingham, West Midlands running overpronators

Laser Foot Scanning and video gait analysis is now available for Solihull, Birmingham and West Midlands runners who overpronate. Prescription orthotics are customised by taking accurate scans of the feet with a Laser Scanner and the orthotic prescription is sent electronically to the USA for manufacturing. The orthotic insoles are manufactured and sent back to the UK for customising before fitting by a registered Sports Podiatrist who specialises in Running Injuries. The estimated time for aquiring the orthotics would be 10 days from initial scan and measurements to the actual fitting.

The Orthotic Laser Foot Scanning Centre is located at the new Centre of Excellence for Runners based at Atlas Pain Relief Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Motorised treadmill video gait analysis can diagnose poor biomechanics which affect runners which in turn can cause running sports injuries such as Achilles tendonitis, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, shinsplints, lower leg muscle pain, knee pain and tendonitis.

Runners who are serious about injury prevention would benefit from state of the art orthotics. The Laser Foot Scan offers accurate mapping of the contours of the feet which results in a better orthotic fitting. If you include the Video Gait analysis in the package, you get a before and after analysis of your running gait showing both the faults and the correction on film. The intention is to supply the runners with a copy of the video and analysis to view at home.

Running sports injuries have been catered for at the Atlas Pain Relief Centre in Tamworth and the Solihull Sports Injury Clinic for many years and their sports injury specialists are involved in running themselves. Distance running and high mileage training can put a lot of stress on the legs and feet and any biomechanical weakness will eventually result in a running sports injury.

The Running Centre of excellence in Tamworth, Staffordshire will be offering training programmes for runners and fitness testing facilities to help improve running times. Aerobic and anaerobic thresholds can be calculated and body fat analysis can be arranged.
