PRLEAP.COM) WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2007 — Zach Hunter, a 15 year old abolitionist from Atlanta, spoke at the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Compassion in Action Roundtable on Wednesday, October 24. Hunter is the global student spokesman for The Amazing Change campaign, an initiative inspired by the major motion picture AMAZING GRACE which chronicles William Wilberforce’s struggle to end the British slave trade. 2007 marks the 200th anniversary of his victory.
Over the course of nine months, The Amazing Change campaign collected more than 125,000 names - mostly students - calling for the end of slavery in this generation. Hunter will present the petition during his remarks at The White House. Experts estimate that 27 million men, women, and children are enslaved around the globe today.
