MT. PLEASANT, S.C.—A new blog by local writer and owner of Mettler Public Relations, Lyn Mettler, will offer her unique spin on using the Web for public relations. The New World PR blog, available at http://newworldpr.blogspot.com/ or at www.mettlerpr.com, will discuss everything from podcasts to social networks and viral videos to RSS feeds in an effort to help companies better promote themselves using these emerging online tools.

“I’ve been interested in how public relations and the Web overlap for a long time, and I continue stay on top of the last trends and technologies to offer these strategies to my clients,” says Mettler. “In my blog, I will address some of the hot topics of the day with commentary on how businesses can implement these tools to better manage their reputations.”

Current posts discuss the merits of Facebook versus MySpace, free content on major newspaper sites and the huge numbers of Baby Boomers who are texting and using Web 2.0 tools.
