Chicago Talent Development Firm Brill Street + Company Names New CEO

Brill Street + Company, Inc., the specialized Chicago-based talent development firm that places college and graduate students on short-term business projects and assignments, announces the hiring of Gilles Tanneur as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm.

“The appointment of Gilles Tanneur as President and CEO marks an exciting and significant milestone in the evolution of our company and sets the stage for our continued success and expansion,” explains David Frej, Brill Street’s co-founder and former CEO. “Gilles brings a wealth of industry experience to our company, boundless entrepreneurial spirit, and an impressive track record of building successful sales and recruiting teams.” As Gilles steps into the role of President and CEO, and as David Frej becomes Executive Vice President of Marketing, Nancy Lerner, co-founder and former EVP of Strategy & Marketing assumes the role of Executive Vice President of Strategy & Sales. “With Gilles responsible for leading Brill Street through its national expansion,” Frej says, “the Brill Street founders will stay focused on expanding the company’s vision through strategic sales and breakthrough marketing initiatives.” Gilles adds, “It is crucial that we continue to differentiate the Brill Street brand experience so we can maintain a strong connection between our emerging talent pool of students and America’s finest companies.”

Gilles Tanneur joins the Brill Street team as the new President and Chief Executive Officer to manage the growth of the company at an opportune time. Gilles comes as a high-powered industry executive with a 17-year track record with Adecco, the world’s largest staffing company. He worked 12 years in France in various senior management positions prior to relocating to Chicago as Adecco’s Senior VP for the Midwest division, and finally becoming CEO for the North East Asia market before joining Brill Street. Gilles oversees all aspects of development locally and nationally. He explains, “Brill Street is much more than a staffing agency; it is a student talent development company that serves as a liaison between companies that are looking to hire, and students who have skills but do not yet have the experience they need to make informed career decisions.” Gilles further describes Brill Street as targeting “a niche market that desperately needs attention. We are currently established in Chicago, but my goal is for Brill Street to have offices across the U.S. by 2009.”
