Renowned Podiatric Surgeons First To Join Saint Joseph's Hospital Staff

Atlanta, GA – Michael McGlamry, DPM and Craig Camasta, DPM are nationally-recognized authorities on foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. They recently became the first podiatric surgeons to join the staff at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, one of the foremost hospitals in Atlanta and the U.S.

Dr. Michael McGlamry received his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in 1991 where he graduated with honors. He completed his post-doctoral surgical training at Northlake Regional Medical Center in Tucker, GA. Dr. McGlamry obtained his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Florida in 1987.

Dr. McGlamry’s surgical skills include advanced training in ankle arthroscopy and microsurgery. He is an accomplished national lecturer and authority on the techniques of surgical reconstruction and has written extensively for medical journals and surgical textbooks. He is a faculty member of The Podiatry Institute, an internationally recognized teaching foundation for reconstructive foot and ankle surgery headquartered in Atlanta. Dr. McGlamry is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.

Dr. McGlamry is a second generation podiatric surgeon and son of E. Dalton McGlamry, DPM, who is widely viewed as the founding father of modern podiatric medicine.

Dr. Craig Camasta received his B.S. in Biology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. His doctorate was earned at Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Camasta completed a three year residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Northlake Regional Medical Center in Tucker, GA. He furthered his training at Australian College of Surgical Podiatrists where he completed a fellowship in podiatric surgical teaching.

Dr. Camasta is a licensed podiatric surgeon in the U.S., Canada and Australia. He is a widely sought after international lecturer and surgical instructor. Dr. Camasta has served as editor and contributing editor to numerous medical textbooks on reconstructive surgery for the foot, ankle and leg. He is a member of the teaching and research faculty for The Podiatry Institute. Dr. Camasta is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Camasta receives referrals for the most complex foot and ankle reconstructive cases from podiatric surgeons nationally and internationally.
