IT Security Leader, eEye Alerts Businesses to Importance of Daylight Savings Patch Updates

IT Security Managers need to apply updates to their computer networks, or their time zone settings may be incorrect during this four-week period, causing employees to miss critical deadlines or events.

Beginning in 2007, daylight savings time (DST) was extended in the United States. DST which began on March 11, 2007 and will end on November 4, 2007 represents a start date three weeks earlier, and an end date one week later, than in previous years. The result being that the DST period is now four weeks longer than it used to be.

IT Security Managers need to verify that their DST patches are in place in order to make sure business resources are properly synchronized.
