DANELLE HARVEY, THE FIRST FAIR TRADE MEDIA ARTIST IS TO APPEAR AT UK SCHOOL FAIR TRADE STORE OPENING

(PRLEAP.COM) A meeting with some of the school children at a recent ethics in business workshop at which Danelle Harvey was a guest speaker and performer prompted a group of participants to invite Danelle to the launch. Danelle has been making a positive difference to the music industry with her ethical grass roots approach to art through her album sales and interaction with her fans.

Danelle uses the Fair Trade concept to help enable independent musicians in the western world alongside those in developing countries. “Trade should be fair everywhere, artists and musicians’ work should be valued much more, especially those trying to make their mark and earn a living from it.

The guys opening the Fair Trade Store at Bydales are taking the initiative and acting responsibly. I was impressed by how ‘clued up’ they were about business and the changes that they wanted to make through their commerce practice when I met them. It was also heartening to see these wise and down-to-earth teenagers with a conscience, an example of our future generations.”

The program of events on the day includes activities for guests include sustainability education and eco related workshops.

Danelle is the founder of Tygahoney Music, an inclusive ethical music service provider that donates a percentage of its profits to Fair Trade and Humanitarian causes. Tygahoney helps artists gain a platform and independence in order to be self-financing in the music industry through teaching them about the industry and gaining control of their careers. Danelle Harvey’s current release, the EP Home is dedicated to Fair Trade crop producers in Malawi and a percentage of the profits go directly to the Traidcraft charity fund.
