Integrated Clinical Trial Services Completes Successful Enrollment Of Stroke Study

November 09, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
CARY, N.C. – Tom Sturgis, president of Integrated Clinical Trial Services (ICTS), a company providing innovative and efficient patient-oriented solutions to the clinical research industry, has announced that the company has recently completed successful enrollment for a stroke study. Before ICTS began work on enrollment, the study was only 10 percent complete after 18 months, but after the DVDs were distributed, the study was 100 percent complete within six weeks.

Stroke studies are difficult to recruit for because they are in an acute-care setting where patients must go through the clinical trial recruitment and enrollment process as they are being treated in an emergency setting. Most often during that time, the triage teams and the treatment staffs are unaware of available clinical trials and what the requirements are to identify an eligible patient.

ICTS increased awareness of the study by producing a DVD program that was distributed to personnel from triage to treatment teams. The DVD explained the stroke study and how to identify and refer patients to the study.
