(Beverly, MA) - Kaminski Auctions, one of Massachusetts’ premier antiques and fine art auction houses, announces its Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Auction. This diverse auction includes items from multiple estates across Massachusetts’ North Shore. The Thanksgiving Weekend Auction, now a yearly tradition at Kaminski’s, features a wide array of antiques, collectibles, furniture, decorative accessories, jewelry and an impressive collection of vintage guitars. The auction takes place Sunday, November 25 at 11am at the Sheraton Colonial Ballroom in Lynnfield. Previews take place Saturday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 20 at Kaminski Auctions on Cabot Street in Beverly, Massachusetts and on the day of the sale between 8:30 and 11am at the hotel ballroom in Lynnfield. The complete catalog is available online at www.KaminskiAuctions.com and the auction will also feature live online bidding through eBay Live Auctions. For more information, call 978-927-2228.

Featured consignments hail from estates in Salem, Marblehead, Beverly and Winchester. The auction features consignments from the Scott, Phelen, Gavenda and Clarke families of the North Shore. Also included is a large collection of presentation items from the estate of John A. Volpe, a former Governor of Massachusetts, U.S. Secretary of Transportation and U.S. Ambassador to Italy.

A special addition this year, up for bid are two Gibson Les Paul vintage electric guitars (Est. $1,000 - $2,000 ea.). These wildly popular musical instruments are the result of a design collaboration between Gibson Guitar Corporation and pop star, Les Paul. The guitars were designed as high-quality, high-cost status symbols and they are widely used by present-day musicians, as well as being collectible in their own right.

An important pair of 18th Century English Silver candlesticks (Est. $2,000 - $3,000) will also be offered. The candlesticks, which measure 9¼” tall, are stamped “John Hyatt & Charles Semore, London, 1759-1760.” Each hallmarked piece bears an engraved family crest and weighs 39.5 oz. Other important lighting includes a pair of early 20th Century Art Deco sconces (Est. $4,000 - $6,000). These ornate three-branched sconces are made of bronze and are stamped Sterling Bronze Co. N.Y.

Underscoring the diverse selection of consignments is a fine ivory South Sea pearl necklace (Est. $10,000 - $14,000). The necklace, measuring 18”, is comprised of 27 pearls that graduate from 14-17mm. A 14-karat diamond clasp accents the pearls.

“Our Thanksgiving Auction has turned into quite an annual tradition,” comments Frank Kaminski. “We always have a great turnout and the timing provides an ideal setting to discover thoughtful and unique holiday gifts, or to find something truly special for yourself.”

Kaminski’s next event, an annual New Year’s Day Auction, takes place Monday, January 1, 2008 at the Sheraton Colonial Hotel in Lynnfield, Massachusetts.
