ST. LOUIS – United Van Lines, one of nation’s largest transportation companies, was named to the Top 250 For-Hire Carriers List by Commercial Carrier Journal (CCJ) magazine. United The CCJ Top 250 ranks the 250 largest for-hire trucking companies based on analysis of revenues, equipment and employment. United captured the No. 19 spot, maintaining its ranking from last year’s list.

Now in its second year, the CCJ Top 250 replaced the Top 100, which was published for nearly 40 years. The Top 100 was strictly a revenue-based ranking. While CCJ states that revenue is a reasonable basis for ranking carriers, as it is an indication of a company’s success with the shipper community, it is not the only important metric.

"We are proud that our achievements have been recognized by Commercial Carrier Journal,” said Casey Ellis, vice president of sales for United Van Lines. “As the nation’s No. 1 mover, United has always focused on creating satisfied customers and will continue its focus on quality and customer service.”

United Van Lines transports electronic equipment, trade show exhibits and displays, works of art, and specialized freight, in addition to household goods. United, with headquarters located in suburban St. Louis, maintains a network of 1,000 affiliated agencies in 135 countries around the world.
