Blue Robin Donates $10,000 in Web Development Resources to Help Build and Implement an eBusiness Infrastructure for the Wellesley Free Library

Blue Robin continues its policy of giving back to the communities it serves, by donating $10,000 toward the design and development of an eBusiness Infrastructure for the Wellesley Free Library. The goal of the project is to design, develop, and implement an eBusiness Infrastructure for the Library, utilizing the latest Internet technology that will be seamlessly integrated with the Libraryfs web site. The objective is to build a system that provides a predictable, scalable, profitable, and secure platform for conducting e-Business. The Library intends to upgrade and establish a stronger Internet presence, as well as automating internal business processes utilizing the web.

Wellesley Free Library aims to build an online portal that can meet web visitorsf expectations, and scale to meet the varying demands of all its constituencies. The objective is to build an on-demand, eBusiness infrastructure that enables the library to have an optimized online community.

The main components of the project include:
Building an Internet-centric Library Portal Management System to include the following:
  A platform using MS-SQL and .NET2
  Easy to use content editor ("WYSIWYG" type)
  eNewsletter Management System
  eMail List Management and Broadcast System
  Room Reservation engine
  Donation/ Philanthropy engine
  eCommerce-enabled
  Integration-ready
  Scheduling System
  Roles based Authentication System
  Dynamic Site Map
  Many more customizable features
gThe Library wants to establish an online system to better serve its audience by presenting up-to-date content. Blue Robinfs generous donation will allow us to use the money we are saving on this project to expand the Libraryfs programs and services, which is the main function of our Library. Blue Robin has developed an excellent architecture for the infrastructure of our web portal. All of the Libraryfs staff are looking forward with anticipation to our new web site infrastructure. About Wellesley Free Library:
In June of 2003, the Wellesley Free Library opened its new main library located at 530 Washington Street. The new facility has many comfortable seating areas, the general collection located on one floor, a wonderful children's room that includes a story hour area as well as a special craft room; quiet study areas, and community meeting space. It is designed to take advantage of the surrounding area including views of the park land next door as well as a spectacular view of the Wellesley Town Hall across the street.
