University of Arizona Doctoral Student Expands Business Supporting Local Educators

(PRLEAP.COM) Tucson Tutors, the tutoring referral service owned and managed by University of Arizona doctoral student, Deborah Schneider, is expanding.

Tucson Tutors is a small business matching Tucson-area students with qualified, experienced tutors. Tucson Tutors refers only experienced tutors holding advanced degrees in a variety of subjects. Most tutors are either practicing teachers or have completed Masters or PhD programs.

Ms. Schneider has applied to operate Tucson Tutors as a limited liability company within the State of Arizona and has plans to expand the scope of Tucson Tutors’ services considerably. Tucson Tutors, which had been run as a voluntary cooperative, will now collect a small fee from each of its tutors, in order to offset advertising costs. This has allowed Ms. Schneider to purchase more advertising materials and acquire the domain name, TucsonTutors.org, in addition to TucsonTutors.com, the company’s current business website.

Ms. Schneider hopes that the current expansion in Tucson Tutors’ services will allow more qualified and experienced tutors to meet the needs of students within the Tucson area.
