Nintendo's DS outplays Sony's PSP say online consumers

July 08, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Whilst Sony’s impressive marketing campaign has placed the PSP in the forefront of customer’s minds (it was discussed twice as frequently as the DS), this has not fed through to customer satisfaction. Customers found that the DS offered superior value due to the substantial price advantage over the PSP

These findings are the result of research by WaveMetrix, based on customer opinion expressed in online discussion. Online discussion contains powerful and candid feedback from customers about what they really think, not what they say in surveys.

“We expected that Nintendo would perform well due to their extensive experience in handheld gaming”, said Anders Schonberg, CEO of WaveMetrix, “however we didn’t anticipate how much ground Sony need to make up to meet consumer expectations.”

WaveMetrix’ unique approach combines proprietary WaveRunner 2.0 technology and industry expert analysts. This combination allows collection and interpretation of customer opinion in any language and almost any topic. The findings are summarised into clear, actionable insights allowing WaveMetrix clients to instantly understand the issues and implications.
