November 25, 2007 - Long time cat charity, Good Mews in Atlanta, Georgia had meows of fun November 10, 2007 at the Furr Ball, when the charity raised a record $43K for the kitties. A festive event of Catnip, Peace and Love was fun for all. Reminiscent of the 60’s with costumes, décor and fun-loving spirit, everyone who attended was supporting the no kill charity.

Rhonda Duffy and her team reigned in the dollars with a lively “Yep” as many bidders fought it out to get their item. Unique experiences, hand painted portraits of pet owners and their pets and a Florida timeshare on the beach for a week were just a few of the important items that the audience laid their money down for the 19 year old charity.

Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes. Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs.

Good Mews has adopted 4,743 cats to good homes to date. The facility was recently upgraded to give a few hundred cats a good, loving home until they can find their new owners. Many volunteers and loving people share in the responsibility of these cats and are grateful for the opportunity.

Rhonda Duffy, licensed auctioneer, and her team of auctioneer assistants offer the community of Atlanta a pro bono charity event wherein the charity can enjoy the benefits of a licensed auction company without the costs.
