Local Eye Doctor Named Young Optometrist of the Year

Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons, a leading center for comprehensive eye care and surgery, is pleased to announce that Dr. Elizabeth Muckley has been named the 2007 Jack T. Keith, O.D. Young Optometrist of the Year by the Ohio Optometric Association.

“I’m thrilled to have been named Young Optometrist of the Year,” said Dr. Muckley. “It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers for the work I’ve done in the community and with the legislature.”

Dr. Muckley was nominated by Dr. Donald Murphy of Fairlawn and Dr. Brian Mathie of North Canton. She was awarded the title in recognition of her contributions to her patients, community, and the Ohio Optometric Association. The award was presented October 6 at an awards banquet held at the Ohio Optometric Association’s East West Eye Conference in Cleveland.

Dr. Muckley has been with Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons for more than seven years. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s College of Optometry. She was the third female member inducted into the National Optometric Glaucoma Society, as well as 1 of only 2 Ohio optometrists in the society. She lives in Lake Township with her husband, Tim, and their son Max.
