(Nashville, TN – November 29, 2007) In spirit of the holidays, Paul Parr has released his first Christmas single entitled “Christmas in the Desert." Written by songwriter and radio promoter, Jerry Duncan, the song tells the true story of a soldier serving in Iraq who will not be home for Christmas. Told from the point of view of the soldier, the song offers a glimpse into the emotions of the season for the troops far from home and a reflection on the true meaning of the holiday.

“This song has such an inspiring message of humanity, hope and belief. I knew I wanted to record it the first time I heard it,” reflected Paul. The song came to Paul’s attention through Jerry Duncan. After promoting Paul’s first radio single “My Redneck of the Woods,” Jerry realized that Paul’s rich baritone and emotional style would complement “Christmas in the Desert” perfectly. Produced by Mike Bradley and recorded at the Soundshop Studio in Nashville, Paul’s performance brings the song to life and pays tribute to the soldiers currently serving our country. "Every time I listen to this song by Paul Parr, the tears well up," said Larry Daniels of Daniels Country Radio Resources. "It's very special, and naturally it deserves airplay this Christmas!"

Paul offers “Christmas in the Desert” on his MySpace page as a 99 cent download with a percentage of sales going to Toys for Tots. “I just couldn’t imagine a little face without a big smile on Christmas morning,” Paul said of his decision to share the proceeds with the popular charity.
