My Blood Pressure has announced the release of a Healthy Heart CD with the My Blood Pressure charting software. The CD offers resources for high blood pressure sufferers as well as Windows software to record and chart blood pressure readings. Nearly one in three adults has high blood pressure, with one third of them unaware that they have it. High blood pressure increases the risk of heart disease, kidney disease and stroke. It is especially dangerous because it often has no warning signs or symptoms.

The My Blood Pressure Healthy Heart CD includes Windows software to record and track blood pressure readings. The CD also includes a ‘blood pressure news’ screensaver to keep the user up to date with the latest blood pressure stories. In addition the CD includes the NHLBI (National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute) Healthy Heart documents which are an important reference for those with high blood pressure.

“There is a lot of information available on high blood pressure and it can be confusing,” said Kellie Helen from My Blood Pressure. “The My Blood Pressure CD brings the essentials together. It gives people the ability to track their blood pressure, keep up to date with current research and reference the important NHLBI documents.”

Steve Alan, creator of My Blood Pressure software, thought his high readings in the doctors’ office were due to the white coat effect. A trip to the hospital proved that very wrong. Steve was diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2004. His Doctor asked him to record his blood pressure readings using a home blood pressure monitor. After a while, he started to skip readings, so he wrote My Blood Pressure (a software program for Windows) to remind himself to use the monitor, and track and chart the readings.

Four years on, and My Blood Pressure is now used by over 8000 people to help track their blood pressure. Clinical research has found that home monitoring can actually improve your blood pressure. Current users say that it makes their home monitoring easier.

The My Blood Pressure CD includes the 3 key elements to help manage and control high blood pressure. Firstly, charting blood pressure informs the patient and doctor of true blood pressure levels. Secondly, the blood pressure news screensaver gives a continuous update of the latest blood pressure research. Thirdly, the NHLBI (National, Heart, Lung and Blood Institute) documents offer the essentials of blood pressure control.

Fortunately, high blood pressure can be managed. The My Blood Pressure CD offers the tools and resources to control high blood pressure successfully.
