OUT IMPACT LAUNCHES THE "EMPOWER ALL PEOPLE" AIDS CAMPAIGN FEATURING YOUTHAIDS AND ANNIE LENNOX
(
PRLEAP.COM) Out Impact, a online gay omnimedia company focusing on making a positive impact within the gay community, announced an international AIDS Awareness Campaign called "Empower All People." "Empower All People" can be seen at
http://aidsawareness.outimpact.com.
For each day in December, starting December 1st, Out Impact will focus on one AIDS non-profit a day around the world to highlight their mission, vision, programs and needs. "It is our hope to give a comprehensive look that will bridge people together to each organization and help meet the needs of each organization as well as encourage awareness for the reader in their own communities," says Bambi Weavil, CEO and Publisher of Out Impact.
Out Impact has selected YouthAIDS as the primary headlining leading AIDS non-profit to highlight for this year’s campaign. "We have deeply admired YouthAIDS over the years for their commitment to the education needed to prevent AIDS, as well as their outreach and dedication to reaching out all over the world to get the message across of prevention, education and encouraging the world to get involved to stop the spreading of AIDS," Weavil says. YouthAIDS, an education and prevention program of PSI, uses media, pop culture, music, theatre and sports to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and reach 600 million young people in more than 60 countries with life-saving messages, products, services and care. YouthAIDS has been leading this year with a major focus on "Women at Risk" as their theme of 2007 with work all over the world, specifically in less developed countries. YouthAIDS has a strong history of commitment to fighting AIDS including strong awareness outreaches by YouthAIDS Global Ambassador, Ashley Judd, in India.
"Empower All People" also uniquely ties together the artistic community by highlighting various performers, entertainers, and artistic projects around the world throughout the month who use their talents to focus on AIDS Awareness. Out Impact has selected award-winning recording artist and humanitarian, Annie Lennox, as the primary headlining performer in AIDS Awareness for "Empower All People." Annie Lennox has teamed up with 23 of the world’s most acclaimed female superstar voices for the charity record "Sing," to raise money and awareness for the HIV/AIDS organization, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC). The original track, available to download through all online retailers; is now accompanied by special remixes available only at iTunes in anticipation of World AIDS Day. The track is taken from Annie’s new critically-acclaimed album, "Songs of Mass Destruction."
"Empower All People" will also be highlighting various individuals who have been affected by the HIV virus, as well as spotlighting volunteers who fight the AIDS pandemic on the front lines. "We deeply believe that AIDS affects everyone no matter what your background or sexual preference is," Weavil believes. "We have to raise our voices to empower all people to come together as a community, regardless of race, sexuality, religion or gender, to help care for those already affected and help prevent the disease from spreading until there is a cure."
Out Impact regularly features entertainment interviews and stories with upcoming and current entertainers of all genres, people who are making a difference, and much more. Out Impact also creates events which partially benefit various non-profits emphasizing having a good time for a good cause. Out Impact attracts a hip audience of gay and gay-friendly men and women, driven to make a positive difference, to always give back, to live life to the fullest and to have fun.
