STARLIGHT STARBRIGHT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION GIVES THE GIFT OF A SMILE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

(PRLEAP.COM) NEW YORK (December 10, 2007) – This holiday season the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation of NY, NJ and CT is sending holiday cheer and warm, cuddly Boyds teddy bears to seriously ill children in tri-state area hospitals. From now until the end of December, all community members are encouraged to participate and send a smile to a hospitalized child in their area. For each donation of $25, the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation will distribute the bears and some holiday cheer to children in hospitals across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

“For five years the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation has been brightening smiles with our teddy bear program,” said Elaine Siver, Executive Director of the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. “It is extremely difficult for children to be in the hospital with high spirits during the holidays. This program really boosts their strength and provides the opportunity for the community to participate and help them through what would otherwise be a difficult time.”

The holiday bears provide a welcome distraction from the stress and fear that children experience while being hospitalized. People who send four or more bears and donate a minimum of $100 will receive inserts for their holiday cards to let their friends, clients, relatives, etc. know that a bear was donated in their honor.
