Internet Novel: American Writer Follows the Chinese Way

(PRLEAP.COM) Jesse Phimphila’s first novel, The Story of Zero is being made available in its entirety on the internet. In addition, the author is letting readers decide the price for an ebook edition. Online novels are a lucrative business in China. Despite being online, print versions of popular works sell in the millions. American writer Jesse Phimphila is following China’s lead by putting his first novel The Story of Zero online.

The idea came to the author after viewing an article on Wired.com - The Chinese Novel Finds New Life Online by Aventurina King. "It sounded like the perfect idea for an unknown work," says Mr. Phimphila.

The novel itself was inspired by an article on The New York Times website, The 21st Century Slave Trade by Nicholas D. Kristof. Freedom and love are recurring themes throughout The Story of Zero.

In addition to putting the novel online, the author is letting readers decide the price of the ebook edition. Print versions can be ordered from Amazon.com and print-on-demand publisher Lulu.com
