BARRETT RICHARDS AD AGENCY OPENS DOORS JAN. 2

A new Fort Collins-based ad agency, Barrett Richards Advertising, will open operations Jan. 2, 2008. Barrett Richards will offer a full range of traditional and new media advertising services to regional businesses and non-profits.

Husband and wife team Philip and Candice Hastings are launching the new agency in order to expand the offerings of their creative design studio, Multiplicity Creative. In addition to developing and producing creative materials, Barrett Richards will offer customers media placement expertise and consumer response tracking.

“We serve clients not as a marketing firm, but as an agency fully focused on effective advertising,” said Philip Hastings, whose experience includes work on a variety of Fortune 500 accounts such as Xerox, Bausch and Lomb and HP. “In a competitive marketplace, businesses know advertising is critical, but keeping up with the staggering number of new advertising outlets can be overwhelming. We guide our clients through choices, create a smart mix of materials, and evaluate consumer impact.”

Evaluating consumer response to advertising is a top priority for the new company. Barrett Richards is the first ad agency in Colorado to use an emerging tracking technology that provides online up-to-the-minute graphs, charts and maps detailing the number of responses to a particular ad or an entire campaign. Clients can access this information and collect consumer data in real time through the Barrett Richards website. This kind of analysis allows companies to respond immediately to consumer spikes and dips, rather than waiting for the end of an ad campaign or relying on estimates of impressions.

“As the only Generation X-owned advertising agency in Northern Colorado, one of our greatest strengths is a thorough understanding of new media as well as of traditional advertising,” said Candice Hastings. “Businesses that can tap into many generations of consumers have an incredible advantage. For example, Gen Xers are turning 40, driving minivans and sharing iPods with their kids. This generation of consumers is redefining advertising, from blogs and podcasts to social networking and viral ads. Understanding and using these advertising opportunities alongside more traditional advertising outlets can help businesses grow.”
