Texworld USA Announces Trend Display Highlighting the Latest Fabric Innovations and Themes
The display will focus on the themes of EcoChic, Verve, Poised & Polished, and Kinetic developed by Texworld USA for the Spring/Summer 2009 season.
In addition, a special section of the display will be devoted to “environmentally friendly” fabrics.
EcoChic
Calm soothing harmonies of taupe and crystal grey accented with mellow yellow, pearl blue and bird’s egg green provoke a mood of well being in EcoChic. Fine gauge patterned knits and jacquards, over-printing on jacquards, fluid silk jerseys, muslins, ultra-fine and wispy fabrics appear, often layered in mixes of weights and textures. Lightweight fabrics are embroidered and coated or foiled. Shirtings are patterned with soft-tone-on-tone stripes. Natural fibers of soya, ramie, linen, hemp, organic cotton, charcoal and their blends are prevalent.
Verve
Verve combines a zesty palette of fruity colors like persimmon, citronella and poppy with earthy and vegetal tones of antique moss, leaf green and cypress in blurred color gradations, patchwork ideas, madras and ikat designs, hand-block, tie-dye and batiks. Devore effects are developed with repetitive abstract designs. Patterns with micro details, pleating and creased effects reveal structures from nature. Raffia and basket weaves appear with enlarged textures.
Poised & Polished
Creole pink, marigold and primrose yellow consort with opal grey and raw umber in Poised & Polished, a fashion-inspired sportswear story with clean lines and immaculate finishes. Crisp piques are perfect for summer tailoring. Surfaces with mirror-like glazes, lustrous viscose and spun silks reveal immaculate finishes. Lightweight velveteens are given a touch of stretch for comfort. Cottons are chintzed and mercerized.
Kinetic
The recycled neoprenes and polyesters, jelly transparencies and bubbles, glazed, coated or lacquered surfaces in the Kinetic theme are punctuated with dynamic graphics, laser-cut and plasticized prints and bold flowery designs in strong vivid colors of cerulean and acacia, electric pink and kingfisher. Durable denims, nylon seersuckers and hi-tech sportswear fabrics with performance qualities such as wicking and ultra-violet characteristics are key.
