Evelyn Hall is an author and poet, bringing more than thirty-five years of writing experience to The Evelyn Hall Column on the www.StarJournalAccess.net exchange.

Her work has been featured in several magazines including, A Poet’s Cut, Skyline Publications, South West Sentinel, Purpose and Mature Living. She has won several writing awards, winning 1st-5th places and came in the top five in the Boomer Woman Essay Contest with almost 400 others competing for the title. Two of her poems have been finalist for the, Chicken Soup Series. Her poem, Transformation is in the anthology, Life’s Spices from Seasoned Sistahs: A collection of life stories from Mature Women of Color.

Eve’s self-published work includes three poetry chapbooks and five books entitled, Dontay’s Alphabet Book of Color, Dontay’s Poetry Playground, Enter Eve’s Poetic Paradise” “Enter Eve’s Musing Moments and Dontay’s Dog. Poetry in a Cup and Sor Magazine has named her Poet of the Month and Poet of the Year, respectively and the African-American Children’s Writer’s & illustrators caught a glimpse of her talent in an interview with her. Eve’s television appearances includes, Artist First and Kruufm. She has done book signings at libraries, bookstores and schools and in 2001, Ms. Hall attended the Hurston-Wright Writer’s Workshop at Howard University, studying under Alexs Pate, author of “Amistad.”

Hall said one of her goals is to publish over a dozen books for children.
