The Fiction Flyer from TRI Studio LLC Offers Out-of-the-Box Promotion Contest for Writers: Carolyn Howard-Johnson Judging
(PRLEAP.COM) Kathe Gogolewski, president of TRI Studio LLC www.tri-studio.com and editor of The Fiction Flyer, a free ezine for writers, announces a different kind of a contest for writers: Out-of-the-Box Promotion, which invites authors to submit their ideas for novel promotional projects, largely untested and untried, or very new. The contest will be judged by promotional guru Carolyn Howard-Johnson, author of The Frugal Book Promoter and The Frugal Editor. www.carolynhoward-johnson.com.
Says Gogolewski, "As published authors, we all know what’s expected of us: Write, write, write and promote, promote, promote. While all of us are inclined toward the former, but many of us struggle with the latter. The activities behind promotion can feel like shameless boasting, and may run contrary to our inner promptings. Promotion becomes a distasteful task or, in other words…it’s WORK." Gogolewski adds that it doesn’t have to be that way. The purpose of the contest is to discover new and interesting ways to promote each others’ work and still have fun.
Entrants are encouraged to incorporate new technology into their ideas such as a YouTube or podcast project. Gogolewski adds, "If it’s ethical and legal, and especially if it’s fun, then we want to hear about it!"
An ebook with the winners’ ideas will be distributed and made available to authors through the TRI Studio and Authors’ Coalition http://authorscoalitionandredenginepress.com/ websites. Modest cash prizes are available, and winning ideas will be taken into consideration for a group networking and promotional project. Contest guidelines are included in the December issue of The Fiction Flyer at: http://tri-studio.com/ezine.html and at this website.
