Transcensus Announces its SHO Engine Technology – A Software Development Platform for Creating Tools Targeting the EPSS (Electronic Performance Support Solutions) Market

July 20, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Transcensus, a developer of innovative software solutions that improve the software instruction and development process, today announced its new Scripted Human Operator™ (SHOTM) Engine technology.

The SHO EngineÔ technology is a patent-pending software development platform created by Transcensus that is allowing its team to develop software tools targeting the EPSS (Electronic Performance Support Solutions) market. When completed, these SHO Engine-based applications will provide a suite of easy-to-use, cost-effective tools for creating effective, step-by-step, workflow-based instruction delivered directly inside any Windows software program.

“As we looked at trends in the EPSS marketplace, we felt the industry was ready for a suite of tools that would allow trainers, content developers and technical support specialists to quickly build instructional solutions that operate directly within Windows-based applications instead of relying upon simulations and other current forms of software instruction,” said David Adkins, Transcensus president. “In order to develop the comprehensive suite of tools we envisioned to support the major areas of the EPSS space – from software help and support to training and certification – we realized that we needed a feature-rich development platform, which is what we have created with our SHO Engine technology.”

According to Adkins, training and instructional solutions developed with SHO Engine-based tools will enable organizations to create better software instruction and performance support content faster and more economically than current solutions on the market. This will be particularly true for many existing EPSS systems that require a high level of expertise on the part of the content developer and that operate on a limited basis outside of targeted applications.

“What really resonates with clients who have seen the technology is the extremely rapid development capabilities offered by the platform and the ability for virtually anyone to create learning resources that are fully integrated with the targeted application without any programming knowledge or specialized skills,” Adkins said.

Transcensus expects to unveil its first SHO Engine-based EPSS tools later this summer.
