Fabless Semiconductor Manufacturer Ramtron Implements Integrated Microsoft and Tensoft ERP Solution in Record Time

San Jose, CA— JULY 19, 2005 – Tensoft, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain specialists for the fabless semiconductor industry, today announced that Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq:RMTR), the leading developer and supplier of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) products, has successfully completed implementation of a combination of Microsoft and Tensoft products in just three months. In an industry where ERP systems typically require extensive customization, and where service providers frequently are unfamiliar with the complex needs of fabless customers, implementations of this scope often over-run budgets and deadlines. Ramtron’s new industry-specific solution consists of Tensoft’s Fabless Semiconductor Management (FSM) 3.6, seamlessly integrated with Microsoft-Great Plains 8.0.

“Using Microsoft-Great Plains for core financials and Tensoft FSM for fabless manufacturing operations, the Ramtron/Tensoft implementation team was able to ‘go live’ in a fraction of the time it would take to customize any non-industry specific software solution,” says Bob Scarborough, CEO of Tensoft. “In addition to our rapid implementation approach, Tensoft FSM brings considerable value by significantly streamlining fabless operations processes. Instead of customizations and ‘work-arounds’ to traditional MRP and supply chain processes, we’ve built best practices and operations efficiency into the product, greatly reducing the steps needed to complete tasks.”

As a technology leader in their industry, Ramtron was looking for ways to optimize their use of technology in their corporate business management systems. As a public company, they also had a clear mandate to minimize risk and ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

“I was pleased to find an ERP solution that offers excellent value, as well as the specific functionality that our business requires,” said Eric Balzer, Ramtron CFO. “Tensoft and our team at Ramtron did a fantastic job of working together to complete this project as the implementation was very smooth compared to my previous experiences with ERP systems.

“This new system will help us keep our finger on the pulse of our daily operations and its scalability will allow it to grow as we grow,” Balzer continued. “I would highly recommend Tensoft to fabless semiconductor companies that want to replace or upgrade their legacy systems.”
