rasota, Florida – Winners of the 2004 Florida Public Relations Association's Golden Image Awards were announced last week; among those awarded, was the acclaimed Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in collaboration with GravityFree, a Sarasota-based Web site developer. The two won an "Award of Distinction' in the Audio/Visual Tools of Public Relations category in which the Van Wezel's Web site was entered.

FPRA's Golden Image Awards is an annual, statewide competition that recognizes outstanding public relations programs in Florida, and aims to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in the state.

To receive an "Award of Distinction,' contenders must meet or exceed the standards of excellence set by the judges – a panel of accomplished public relations and communication professionals. The award was presented to Margaret Fuesy, Public Relations Manager for Van Wezel with acknowledgments to GravityFree.

Earlier this year Van Wezel and GravityFree received two Mirror Image Awards - a local/regional competition for the Central West Coast Chapter of the FPRA. They received a "Grand Image Award' and an "Image Award' in the Audio/Visual category - attributed to the GravityFree designed, Van Wezel Web site.

Both recipients are equally proud of the recognition the Web site has garnered since its launch last fall. It has proven to be a powerful public relations tool for the multi-faceted Performing Arts Hall and a paradigm for GravityFree; showcasing what they can accomplish for their clients with this medium.
