www.travelandtransitions.com educates and encourages visitors with quality articles and interviews on how to explore new horizons, to get out there and discover the world - locally and abroad, to connect with people from different cultures and to open themselves up to new experiences. In addition to providing practical money-saving tips and destination information, this website intends to foster tolerance and understanding for people from other places and other cultures.

Travel and Transitions strives to educate its readers about unconventional, often cost-saving forms of travel. Over the next few weeks, Travel and Transitions will investigate the topic of volunteering for global non-profit organizations in more detail. Travel and Transitions just completed an interview with Doctors Without Borders, the world's leading independent international medical relief organization.

Doctors Without Borders (Médécins sans Frontières - MSF) was founded by a group of French doctors in 1971 who were concerned with the plight of populations in emergency situations. Today MSF has grown into 5 European operational sections, and 13 partner sections around the world. Currently Doctors Without Borders are involved in a famine crisis in Niger; in the conflict in Darfur, West Sudan; in conflict areas in Democratic Republic of Congo; in mental health projects in Asia; in the tsunami relief in South-East Asia; and the organization offers AIDS treatment projects in dozens of countries around the world, to name only a few. More information about MSF is included in this article: http://www.travelandtransitions.com/interviews/doctors_without_borders.htm.

Global volunteer organizations that are interested in being profiled by Travel and Transitions are invited to contact the Publisher.
