“A bevy of beauties in bikinis… you’re like a six ring circus!”

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, the Witches in Bikinis are more than your typical band – a coven of six sexy and talented ladies sing and dance their way through catchy horror- and sci-fi- themed tunes inspired by 60’s girl groups. More than a band – the Witches are a theatrical rock n’roll experience like nothing you’ve seen on stage before. Songs like "Horror Flick Chicks", "Witches In Bikinis", "Video Vixen Vampire", "Party Like A Chimpanzee", "Subway Spooks" and "Alien Surfer Babes” have been haunting brains since October 2005.

Since appearing at last year’s MMC, the Witches have performed around the east coast, including a main-stage slot at the annual Mayfair Festival in Harvard Square and several successful shows in the Harrisburg area over the summer. On Halloween night they made a splash on their own float in New York City’s Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, the nation’s largest public Halloween celebration. Pictures and video from their parade appearance and other shows can be found on youtube.com/witchesinbikinis, flickr.com, and myspace.com/witchesinbikinis.

Their appearance in the parade garnered many new fans – including a blog and interview on AMCtv.com’s Monsterfest and an interview and live performance with 80’s rock superstar Dee Snider on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Fangoria show. After their live rendition of “Video Vixen Vampire” at the Sirius studio, Fangoria co-host Debbie Rochon called Witches in Bikinis “…my favorite band of all time!”

Lead vocals are by powerhouse singers Jupitheria (Carolyn Demisch) and Lunapheria (Karen Weatherwax). The group’s tight harmonies are filled out by principal dancers and backup singers Sinira Minovar (Julie Betts), Kerinine (Emily Reiter) and Jojo (Joanna Walchuck). The Witches also welcome their newest member, dancer/singer Zebithestra (Elizabeth Ellis). Songwriter Bill Rozar (keyboard/guitar) leads the four-piece band, including Arnold Aprea on drums, Gene Kelly on bass/rhythm guitar, and Jaime Boyaca on keyboard/bass.

Catch the Witches live on Saturday February 16th at 10:45pm in the Radisson Convention Center as part of MMC12. Their self-titled debut album is currently available on CDBaby.com and on iTunes. The group is currently recording their follow-up album, which will feature such audience favorites as “Calling King Kong” and “Jennifer of the Jungle.”
