February 8, 2008 - On January 18, 2007 the first fundraiser was held to support this mission. In attempts to raise 3.5 million dollars for the hospital, many country music stars were in attendance. Clint Black, Lisa Hartman-Black, Doug Stone and Mark Wills supported the charity with their attendance and donations. The event was held in the beautiful Ocean's ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium where a reception, dinner, silent auction and live auction where held.

Jack Hanna, host of the show, "Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures" attended with all of his animals in tow. Jack stated in his speech that
"I'm thrilled to support GROW's effort to build Georgia's first wildlife specialist veterinary hospital. With areas like metro Atlanta expanding by the minute, we're seeing more wild animals pushed into urban environments where many become injured."

Rhonda Duffy and her team of professional bid assistants supported the event pro bono to bring in as many donations as possible. "The event was a great success and everyone had a great time with the animals", Duffy said.
