Human Resources IQ/IQPC Call for Nominations for the Corporate University Best in Class Awards (CUBIC)

Human Resources IQ and IQPC, the creators of the RASBIC (Recruiting & Staffing Best in Class) awards, are currently accepting applications for the annual Corporate University Best in Class Awards (CUBIC).

The CUBIC awards have been established to honor, recognize and promote corporate universities that are true best practices. To identify these leading training organizations and individuals IQPC and Human Resources IQ have enlisted a prestigious group of corporate university experts and leaders to accurately and objectively evaluate the true effectiveness of world-class corporate universities . The winners will no doubt set the standards of excellence for all training organizations.

First Place and Honorable Mentions will be awarded in each of the following categories:

• Best Overall Corporate University
• Best New Corporate University (1 year or less)
• Most Innovative Corporate University
• Corporate University Leader of the Year
• Best Evaluation Technique
• Best Virtual Corporate University or Best Use of Technology
• Best Mature Corporate University (5+ years in existence)
• Most Innovative Industry Resource

At the 2004 CUBIC awards, held last fall in Orlando, the following organizations were honored for setting the standards of excellence in within the field of Corporate Universities:

• Best Overall Corporate University
First Place: Caterpillar University

• Best New Corporate University
First Place: Brown-Forman Corporation

• Most Innovative Corporate University
First Place: Heineken Sales Campus

• Corporate University Leader of the Year
First Place: Caterpillar University, David L. Vance

• Best Evaluation Technique
First Place: Caterpillar University

• Best Virtual Corporate University or Best Use of Technology
First Place: Campus MBA


• Best Mature Corporate University
First Place: IKON University

• Most Innovative Industry Resource
First Place: Hospital U Healthcare e-learning collaborative

"Receiving the award for Most Innovative Corporate University has raised the bar for all learning that occurs at Heineken USA. It has validated for our leaders and learners that our programming makes a difference." said Lauren Gold, Director of Organization, Heineken. "This award has enabled us to stand out in our industry and to be used as a tool to attract top talent. The top three entries in each of the award categories will be identified as finalists and will be contacted in advance of the awards ceremony. Winners will be announced and presented at the CUBIC Awards Dinner held on November 1, 2005. On the following morning, the 2005 CUBIC award winners will be invited to participate in an interactive panel discussion to field questions about the key elements that lead to their success and recognition.

All CUBIC Award activities shall take place during the 7th Annual Corporate University Week 2005, which will be held on November 2-3, 2005 at the Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort, Lake Buena Vista, FL.

This year’s Corporate University Week will feature the CU Week Institute Certification, which gives you the opportunity to earn as you learn by becoming certified as either a Senior Professional in Corporate Universities (SPCU), or Professional in Corporate Universities (PCU). Learning and being formally certified will be essential for Professionals in Corporate Universities to truly develop their Corporate University as a true partner to the organization’s workforce but also a key element in developing successful corporate strategy.
