Water Coolers Direct Ltd is proud to announce it’s latest initiative to regularly donate water coolers to UK based charities. The company has invited the UK web going public to participate by suggesting their favourite charity via an online form on the company website.

Water Coolers Direct are an internet based company who buck the established trends of the water cooler industry, by freeing the UK consumer of cumbersome rental contracts and offering customers the opportunity to buy all types of drinking water systems outright. Recently the company has partnered with Zip Heaters UK to sell the ever popular Zip taps and also the Zip Water Heating & Boiling Systems.

Fred Cairns Palmer, Managing Director, WaterCoolersDirect.com Ltd said "Clean drinking water is life to many in the third world, every day more than 25,000 people die from water-borne diseases. Charitable donations have therefore always been an important part of what we do at Water Coolers Direct. The latest initiative is close to our heart as many charities are spending inflated prices on bottled water coolers swallowing up important donation monies, in addition they are inadvertently damaging their image because of the adverse environmental consequences of bottled delivery.”

Since inception in 2004 Water Coolers Direct has donated over £12,000 to charity through various water related partners including Oxfam and FRANK Water. FRANK Water benefited from over £7,400 the majority of which has helped provide a clean water facility for over 6,000 people in the village of Pedatummedi in Andhra Pradesh in India. Oxfam received over £7,400 enough to buy 4 large 95,000 litre tanks capable of supplying drinking water to 4,000 people per day.

The idea is to allow the general public to put forward their suggestions to allow one of the charities to benefit from a brand new Water Logic Cooler. The offer is open to anybody in the UK and the company are encouraging everyone with an interest to fill in the online form so that each charity can be considered. Each form submission will result in another instance of the charity name being placed into the Prize Draw so each submission gives the individuals chosen charity an additional chance to win.

“We are proud of our charitable history…” says Martin Booth Sales Director of Water Coolers Direct “…the historical donations and planned charitable initiatives sit well with our other activities that help our business fit in with the surrounding world; such as our Carbon Neutral Status and our insistence that our suppliers sign up to our Fair Trade Agreement.”

The offer is open until the end of March 31st 2008 and the Prize Draw will take place on April 4th 2008
