Fort Worth Lawyer Steven C. Laird Warns Employers to Post Summaries of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses

(PRLEAP.COM) Attorneys from the Fort Worth personal injury law firm of Laird & Cummings, P.C., are warning employers that starting Feb. 1, 2008, they are required to post a summary of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in their workplace in 2007.

From Feb. 1 to April 30, 2008, employers are required to post OSHA Form 300A, which provides a summary of the company’s workplace injuries and illnesses.

“Employees have a right to know if their workplace is safe,” says attorney Steve C. Laird, partner in the Fort Worth law firm. “By having information on injuries and illnesses readily available, employers can make sure their workforce is well-informed of any possible hazards.”

OSHA standards require that employers provide information on safety and health hazards in their workplaces, as well as chemicals used in their workplaces and tests done to measure chemical, noise and radiation levels.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, there were more than 5,000 workplace deaths in 2006.
