Franciscan Sisters feature “Jesus Wept” as their Holy Week Meditation

(PRLEAP.COM) The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity feature Ralph McTell performing his song “Jesus Wept” as their Holy Week online meditation at www.fscc-calledtobe.org/living/

A world renown storyteller, Ralph McTell, is a singer, prolific-skillful songwriter, and acoustic guitar player born in Farnborough, England. Jesus Wept is an ardent narrative of Jesus Christ’s heartrending and tender journey to the cross that commences with “the day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem.”

The song is accompanied by artist Stephen Whatley’s “Father, Why Has Thou Forsaken Me?” Whatley is a professional artist based in London,U.K. His vibrant Expressionist oils are in private collections worldwide and in public collections including BBC Heritage & The Royal Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“We want to present our life as a viable option. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music.” says Sr. Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, Directress of Vocations for the Franciscan order.

Established in 1869, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serve in Catholic health care, education and parish ministries in 13 U.S. dioceses (Green Bay, Superior, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tucson, Honolulu, Chicago, Marquette, Jackson, Lincoln, Omaha, Columbus and Steubenville).
