The lecture will take place in the City Hall Auditorium at 4:00pm, and is free. Dr. G. Campbell ‘Cam’ Trowsdale, the Stratford-born Concertmaster Emeritus of both the CBC Radio Orchestra and the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, presents the lecture which is the result of years of research and study. Professor Emeritus of UBC’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Trowsdale will tell the stories of a gifted music teacher, a memorial paid for by the pennies of school children, a community which honoured a teacher in a way unique in Canada, a fountain’s strange odyssey, and the restoration of a significant landmark from Stratford’s Victorian past.

Part social history, part music history, and part Stratford history, the lecture will be followed by the unveiling of the replacement sculpture organized by the Stratford and District Horticultural Society. All are invited.
