Island Seafare's Hot Smoked Salmon wins the fish category of the Ideas To Dine For 2008 Competition
(PRLEAP.COM) Island Seafare’s
Hot Smoked Salmon has been voted the winner of the Fish category of Food & Drink Expo’s Ideas to Dine For 2008.
The Ideas to Dine For Competition narrowed down hundreds of products across twelve categories including bakery, ready meals and ethnic foods. A winner from each category was then selected and went through to the Supreme Champion Final at the Food & Drink Expo Show that took place recently at the Birmingham NEC.
Food & Drink Expo is the most exciting UK exhibition for sourcing the latest and most innovative food and drink products and services from around the world and is attended by leading buyers of the Food service, Retail, Wholesale and manufacturing markets.
This year’s judging panel consisted of chefs, industry experts, food writers and journalists including TV Chef Silvena Rowe, freelance and BBC Good Food Magazine writer Vanessa Berridge. These passionate food and drink enthusiasts look forward to awarding the very best products produced in the UK with their prestigious category titles.
Tim Croft, Managing Director of Island Seafare, commented on winning the award saying "We know we have a real quality product with the Scottish Salmon we source, and it is probably one of the Isle of Man’s best kept secrets. Not many people have been aware up until now that we produce Smoked Salmon at the factory on the quay in Port St Mary. The Hot Smoked Salmon is a cracking variation on the smoked salmon theme giving fantastic flavour and succulent texture. We have had some really fantastic feedback on our
Smoked Salmon recipe and it’s great that the hard work, passion and dedication from all the Island Seafare team has been recognised by this award and hopefully this will really start to get Island Seafare and Isle of Man produce noticed in the industry."
