Unisys Announces New Leadership for Greater China

September 10, 2004 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Hong Kong, September 8, 2004– Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) announced today that it has appointed David Fu as leader of its Greater China business. Fu will serve as vice president & general manager. He replaces John Wen, who is retiring after 21 years of service at Unisys. Fu joins Unisys from Equant Network Services, a global communication infrastructure solutions company, where he served as vice president of Marketing & Sales and general manager for Greater China for the past two years.

"The Greater China region is a vibrant growth area, and one where we have a solid foundation,' said Unisys President and Chief Operating Officer Joe McGrath. "Under David's leadership, we plan to build off that base, and capitalize on the market's potential.' Asia Pacific currently accounts for 13% of Unisys revenue.

Fu, based in Hong Kong, will report to Andrew Barkla, vice president and general manager Asia Pacific, and be responsible for increasing Unisys market share across the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Unisys focuses on providing end-to-end services and solutions to the transportation, financial services and public sector industries in the region.

"David brings deep industry knowledge in financial services and global infrastructure solutions, qualities which will enable Unisys Greater China to offer strategic end-to-end solutions to its target customer base,' commented Andrew Barkla, vice president and general manager Asia Pacific.

Among Fu's first priorities will be leading efforts to leverage Unisys new consulting methodology 3D-VE. Clients in the public, transportation, financial and media sectors in Asia Pacific are using 3D-VE to align business strategy with operations, operations with processes, and processes with technology. The technology also provides a number of other business benefits, such as a common IT architecture and framework; proven component based architecture, allowing easy enhancement and support; predictability while embracing marketplace uncertainty; capacity to rapidly assemble new business processes via reuse of both business and technology patterns; traceable and measurable ROI; and enhanced speed to market.

Prior to Fu's most recent experience at Equant, he held a number of senior positions at AT&T Solutions in Greater China and Asia Pacific and at Bank of America in Hong Kong and the Philippines. Previously, Fu spent two years working for Unisys overseeing China Information Services in the mid-nineties.

Fu has a bachelor's degree from National Cheng-Chi University, Taipei, Taiwan and a master's degree from the University of Houston, Texas.
