Chester County Business Leaders in the Community to raise money for the M.M. Power Scholarship Fund.

(PRLEAP.COM) A Women Only Golf Outing (WOGO! 2008) July 11 2008 will coincide with the 1 year anniversary of Chester County Business Leaders in the Community (CCBLC). April 24 2008 marked the first meeting of CCBLC’s sister chapter, Greater Philadelphia Business Leaders in the Community, in Philadelphia.

CCBLC has donated over $500 to the PA Home of the Sparrow and the Women Only Golf Outing will be used to raise additional monies for the M.M. Power Scholarship Fund through the West Chester University Foundation. This fund helps pay for the tuition costs at West Chester University for a woman client of the Home of the Sparrow or a woman student at WCU majoring in the sciences or in business. One $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an eligible candidate in the fall and spring semesters.

Money will be raised through muliigan tickets, a 50:50, and a raffle with prizes such as a ladies #4 fairway wood (donated by Bronwyn Martin), a women’s Coach briefcase (donated by Michelle White of Malvern Federal Savings), a night at Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast (donated by Lori & Steve Zytkowicz, owners), and other items.

Both CCBLC and the M.M. Power Scholarship Fund were established in 2007 by Dr. Bronwyn L. Martin, a recent recipient of the 2008 PA Best 50 Women in Business award and 2007 SBA Women in Business Champion. Bronwyn Martin is an Ameriprise-associated franchisee owner with an office in Kennett Square, PA. "I believe in the power of education and I believe that my MBA through WCU has been instrumental in helping me be a better businesswoman. It is a natural fit to me to offer scholarship money through the WCU Foundation. My passion has always been science because of how it improves so many things if the knowledge is used correctly," said Martin.
