Downloadable Italian Course Takes Off at Rocket Languages

Rocket Italian is the newest addition to the company’s range of downloadable language learning packages.Started in 2004, Rocket Languages established itself as one of the leaders in downloadable multimedia language learning courses in just a few years by seizing upon the advantages that new media technologies afford.

The company’s first products, Rocket Spanish and Rocket French, attracted an immediate audience and remain among the highest ranking sites in terms of online search engine rankings. Building on the success of the French and Spanish products, Rocket German was released in 2006, followed by an advanced level Spanish course, a Japanese course, and a video-based course in American Sign Language in 2007.
Each language learning package includes an "Interactive Audio Course" with audio lessons that allow learners to join spoken conversations as well as listen to them. In addition to the audio lessons, the packages include illustrated "Grammar & Culture" lessons in the form of dynamic web pages with embedded audio clips, and software-based learning games on vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, which give users feedback in real time.
The company is still busy: right on the heels of Rocket Italian is Rocket Chinese (Mandarin), a beginners’ course for learning conversational Chinese, which is due to be released ahead of the Beijing Olympics, and an advanced level German course has just gone into production.
