Schmidt & Clark, LLP Announces Launch of Digitek® (Digoxin) Recall Website
(PRLEAP.COM) Sunday, May 18, 2008 — Schmidt & Clark, LLP, a nationally recognized products liability law firm has announced today that it has recently added additional content to its Digitek® and Digoxin recall website.
The manufacturer of the prescription medication, Digitek® has issued a Class I nationwide recall of Digitek® (Digoxin tablets, USP, all strengths) for oral use because some of the tablets contain twice the amount of the active ingredient.
According to the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Digitek® is used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. The existence of double strength tablets poses a risk of digitalis toxicity in patients with renal failure. Digitalis toxicity can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, low blood pressure, cardiac instability and bradycardia. Death can also result from excessive Digitalis intake. Several reports of illnesses and injuries have been received.
