The Ten O'Clock Show to launch monthly stamp auction in Slough

(PRLEAP.COM) One of the largest online dealers in stamps and collectables in the UK has launched a monthly live auction, to be held in the village of Stoke Poges, near Slough. The Ten O’Clock Show Ltd, based in South Leicestershire, has sold more postage stamps on the internet than any other dealer in Europe over the last three years.

The first sale, held on Sunday June 22nd, will feature several hundred lots including box-lots, albums, ranges, sets and singles, featuring genuine Penny Blacks, Victorian British Empire stamps, German wartime occupation issues, early Russian postal history, modern autographed covers, vintage postcards, coins, cigarette cards, toys and much more. There will be large collections of material including from virtually every major country, as well as many obscure states. The ‘Great Britain’ section is extensive. Estimates range from just £10 to £1,000 plus, so there will be something for all budgets. Viewing will take place from 12pm to 3pm. The auction will commence at 3.30pm.

Andy Ridley, the company’s chief philatelist, explained "Our business has built its reputation on selling large collections intact and although we provide detailed photograph of collections online not all collectors are comfortable with buying over the internet. We get an enormous amount of telephone calls and emails from potential buyers who want to buy a particular collection, but would like to see it for themselves first. We are now giving them the opportunity to do that. We want our live auctions to be a social event for collectors - a chance to meet others who share a common interest."

Following the first sale, auctions will be held on the fourth Sunday of every month. The venue is The Village Centre, Rogers Lane, Stoke Poges, Slough, Berks SL2 4LP.

"Most of our customers are based in the South-East of England, Interest is particularly strong in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. Stoke Poges is ideally located, as it is close to the M25, M40 and M4. The excellent road links should make the sales accessible to most collectors in London and the Home Counties." added Ridley.

The venue has free parking and disabled access. No admission fee will be charged. For further information about buying or selling stamps and collectables through the auction, call 01455 202525 (Mon-Fri 10am-5pm). Alternatively visit www.thetenoclockshow.co.uk
