Scandinavia's grandest amusement park is also the greenest and has been so since the park opened in 1923. The promenade is lined by trees, and the scent of hundreds of thousands of flowers is an important part of the experience.

A completely new park has been created especially for Gardens of Gothenburg. Fisher Tomlin have worked alongside David Schofield and Catherine Heatherington from the UK, Liseberg's head gardeners Thomas Dahl and Peter Törnberg and Swedish architects 02Landskap to create a major new urban landscape for the city. The themed areas include large areas of new plantings and include the brand new Plant Oasis, Indian Summer and the Waterfall visible at the entrance to Liseberg Park.

Some of the plants used include native Swedish trees but a large number of ornamentals have also been introduced. Here are just some of the special species and varieties used.
