New learning resources at Open Mind

Open Mind, the UK’s largest specialist learning resources distributor, is gearing up for the autumn by enlarging the range and volume of learning resources available to its 600 or so regular customers. Among Open Mind’s additional resources for 2005/06 are:

· The Crown House Publishing range of books covering business, training and development.

· Fire safety videos from both the Fire Protection Association and Fire Training Videos

· A new range of interactive DVDs from Balance Learning

Alun Harvey, Open Mind’s managing director, said: “Crown House Publishing is a fast-growing publisher of business titles, especially in the fields of NLP and coaching. In addition to its best-selling ‘The Trainer’s Toolkit’, we will be carrying titles such as ‘Understanding NLP’, ‘7 Steps to Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘Finding Square Holes – an individual’s guide to career development’.

“While books remain popular, it’s also encouraging to see the growing number of DVD learning resources becoming available,” he added. “Although it’s too soon to say that the VHS video is dead, its days are certainly numbered - while around 500 titles are now available on DVD. Playable through a DVD player or a laptop, they offer flexibility and convenience for trainers and learners alike.”

Open Mind’s extensive preview facilities contain over 10,000 learning resources in all forms of delivery media – from the ‘hi-tech’ online, DVD and CD-ROM delivered programmes, through the ‘traditional’ video programmes to books and audio tapes.
