Origins Network News - New 1841 Census Data online

August 11, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
Additional 1841 census records can now be searched on British Origins (www.britishorigins.com) from the counties of Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Worcestershire. Over 480,000 names are available within these records and images of the original census records are also available online.

The census is organised by property and household(s) within that property. The census records are searchable by name, age, birth place, parish and county. The index records include the source record references, so that users with access to CDs of the original census records can use The Origins Network census index alongside these CDs.

Further counties will be added to the 1841 census on a monthly basis.

Origins Network (www.originsnetwork.com) provides multiple new and exclusive British and Irish genealogy collections via Irish Origins and British Origins, including Origin Search, the first genealogy specific search engine, now including over half a billion names. Collections include the most complete version of Griffith's Valuation with maps, Boyd's Marriage records, Irish Wills, William Smith O'Brien Petition, British Gazetteer including maps, 1871 and 1841 England and Wales Census records.

Most of this information is not available anywhere else on the internet.

Partnerships with leading archives and genealogical societies in the UK and Ireland, including the Society of Genealogists, Eneclann Ltd, The National Library of Ireland, the Borthwick Institute for Archives, and Burke’s Peerage and Gentry, allow The Origins Network to provide exclusive online access to key sources, with an increasing emphasis on access to primary records, and to material which puts the “flesh on your ancestors bones”
