PRLEAP.COM) Front Royal, VA August 6, 2008 – Stained Glass by Shenandoah Inc., a company specializing in the restoration, preservation and insulation of stained glass, was recently featured on the front page of the Muskegon Chronicle for its work on the Hackley Public Library project. The daily newspaper delivers information on local news, business, sports, entertainment, travel, living, shopping, real estate and classifieds.
The article titled "Glassed from the Past" explains how the Hackley Public Library removed and repaired parts of building that were threatening the ornate stained glass art in the interior of its building. More than $110,000 was raised individuals and book sales for the project, which is expected to be completed in November.
"Four firms responded, and the district awarded the job to Stained Glass of Shenandoah, based in Front Royal, Va., which has an impressive 150 years of experience," wrote Muskegon Chronicle writer Lynn Moore. Workers removed the windows to create a thermal window system as part of the restoration project.
"The crew took the stained glass back to its workshop in Virginia, where each of the thousands of pieces of glass that comprised the windows will be cleaned and resembled with new lead ‘came,’" wrote Moore.
