Charlotte, NC August 6, 2008 The Charlotte Marriott SouthPark Hotel announces the completion of renovations to all guest rooms, suites, meeting space, ballrooms as well as its new state-of-the-art fitness center. The renovations, costing around $3 million, introduce state of the art technology and modern elegance which raises the bar for style, luxury, comfort and quality across the Marriott brand.

Each guest room and suite now offers the elegant combination of European sophistication and Southern charm, combined with the boutique luxury of the former Park Hotel. Hardwood floors at the entrance of each guest room leads to a tranquil setting with rich deep colors offset by contemporary lines, classic crown molding and lightly colored accents pieces. Each graciously appointed room has the new Revive Bedding package, which includes 300-thread-count sheets, thicker more comfortable mattresses with the addition of a mattress topper, and more luxurious pillows. The Revive Bedding is among the finest and most distinctive in any global hotel brand.

An added bonus of each guest room, the new Plug In Play enables guests to connect laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras and more to the 32" flat screen HDTV. In addition, IPod alarm clocks with docking stations are also positioned in each room as an added upgrade.

"The technology features in each guest room have added a new element to our already classic sophisticated guest room," adds Michele Pajot, General Manager of the Marriott SouthPark Hotel.

Two other projects completed during the renovation included the remodeling of all meeting space and ballrooms and renovating the 24 hour fitness center. The intimate meeting space and spacious ballrooms have been updated to include new décor to encompass a European style and a touch of Southern charm. The 24-hour fitness center is one of the areas largest at over 1100 square feet. Tastefully decorated in a modern style with state of the art fitness equipment and amenities, this renovated area is a favorite among return guests. The new facility includes LifeFitness' latest line of cardio equipment including treadmills, stationary bikes, and elliptical machines, each with individual entertainment screens and an IPod docking / charging station.

The Charlotte Marriott SouthPark, formerly the Park Hotel, has 195 guest rooms, including eight suites, a concierge level, 24-hour health club and 8,750 square feet of meeting space. Other amenities include individual room climate control, coffee/tea makers, iron and ironing board, hairdryers, coolers, in room safes, high definition cable channels, a completely nonsmoking atmosphere, pet friendly accommodations, high speed internet and spacious workspace for business travelers with nearby spa services and beauty salons.

Filled with modern art and antiques throughout, the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark offers the most distinguished hotel address in the fashionable Queen City neighborhood.
