Go Green: Allied Electronics Launches RoHS Knowledge Center

August 11, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Fort Worth, TX – Allied Electronics has launched an online RoHS Knowledge Center to help design engineers, purchasers and other industry professionals comply with emerging green laws, such as the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation set to go into effect in less than a year.

The website (www.alliedelec.com/RoHS) is designed to keep customers up-to-date on RoHS and other green laws affecting the electronics industry in North America. The RoHS Knowledge Center will feature manufacturer updates and a complete listing of Allied’s broad offering of RoHS compliant products.

In addition, Allied’s website now features a RoHS search functionality that will display those products that are RoHS compliant. This website enhancement enables users to enter a part number to determine a component's RoHS status. Allied has designated a green RoHS checkmark symbol to distinguish RoHS compliant parts.

“Allied is committed to conducting business in an environmentally friendly manner,” says Lee Davidson, president of Allied Electronics. “We are also committed to providing timely and relevant information to our customers. Our RoHS Knowledge Center helps us do both.”
