The Inn of the Patriots Featured in Charlotte Observer
(PRLEAP.COM) Grover, NC August 9, 2008 – The Inn of the Patriots, a historic bed and breakfast and owner Martin Mongiello were recently featured in the Charlotte Observer for its tie to American history as well as being a beautiful getaway for people visiting the town of Grover, North Carolina. The Inn of the Patriots is in a house built in 1879 by Dr. Alfred Hambright, the assistant surgeon to Confederate generals A.P. Hill and T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson.
While the Inn of the Patriots has a patriotic theme, it focuses primarily on Frederick Hambright, who fought the Loyalists at Kings Mountain, shouting commands to his Lincoln County and South Fork men in a thick German accent.
Mongiello has a background in culinary arts before he decided to open the bed and breakfast, as he was the executive chef at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland, from 1993 to 1996.
"So there it is, tucked away on a shady residential street in Grover: the Inn of the Patriots, complete with a spa and salon and vegetable garden. The presidential culinary collection has mugs, cups and glasses and photos of Mongiello with Bill and Hillary Clinton, among other notables.
